FALL IN LOVE WITH DISC GOLF
THE “DISCBEE” CAN BE YOUR WINGMAN
Why is disc golf so hard?
Disc golf is a difficult sport to get into because it requires a unique athletic throwing motion that isn’t intuitive like throwing a ball. You must be the “club” to “hit” the disc at a very high speed, and you must be able to utilize different levers of your body to do this effectively. Your levers are your wrist, your forearm, your upper arm, your shoulder, your torso, your hip, and your legs. These must be timed to fire in sync and in the right order. It is a very difficult thing to do, and most people need to struggle through their first several months of playing disc golf through trial and error. In doing so, most people develop bad form and bad habits which are harder to reverse after they have been engrained in muscle memory.
That’s why I have created this site specifically for beginners just like you! I want to help you develop good habits not bad ones from the start!
There is a ton of great education and content on the web for experienced disc golfers, but there isn’t a ton of great content for brand new players. The goal of this site is to be a great resource for brand new disc golfers. My aim is to be your guide and arm you with foundational knowledge, tips, advice, and proper disc selection to help you get started on the right foot and go from complete beginner to advanced.
That way you fall in love with the sport and help it grow instead of doing what most people do and throwing the wrong disc about 50 feet before it crashes to the ground and never playing the sport again.
No, you want that FULL beautiful S-shaped flight, and this website is dedicated to helping you find it, fall in love with it, and FALL IN LOVE WITH DISC GOLF!
So don’t be like the majority of people who go to the course throw a frisbee into the rough over and over until they lose it (and end up losing disc golf forever). Instead be one of the few that know how to get full flights and sink long putts!
Let’s get started!
If you are brand new to disc golf, you need to start with the right discs. This is the most important place to start because the vast majority of disc golf discs are intended for more advanced players who throw very far. If you don’t throw very far yet these discs will not fly properly.
Instead, if you start with beginner-friendly discs, you can get some sweet and beautiful flights that go pretty far (even at slower speeds). So let’s start there.
A great place to start is with a starter set. I have a page outlining my picks for the top 10 disc golf beginner sets!
If you don’t want a starter set –
Instead, you might just want to start with a single disc or two. If this is the case, I recommend you read this page that outlines my recommendations for the best disc golf discs for beginners.
If you start with these beginner-friendly discs, I promise you that you will have much more fun than buying an advanced disc (like a Destroyer) which will only frustrate you when it goes 50 feet and immediately crashes to the ground. Please swallow your pride and start with a beginner disc (or set) that will actually allow you to get full flights and have more fun.
